Touralpin Touristik GesmbH company outing to Budapest October 2014
The group of 21 people met at the train station in Salzburg as agreed. We enjoyed the train ride via Vienna to the Hungarian capital. The trip was entertaining, there was a lot to talk about and laugh about, cards were played. Prosecco, beer and a good snack were provided for body and soul.
Budapest awaited us in drizzle, but that did not dampen our good mood. After checking in at the Mercure hotel centrally located in the city center, we were picked up by a friendly bus driver who took us to the wine catacombs for wine tasting, which was original and fun. The dinner that followed in the wine cellar was rich, peppered with fiery gypsy music, lots of laughter and good conversation.
Thanks to our colleagues from Neckermann Hungary, we had a varied program on Saturday incl. a visit to the hotel. City tour in a Riverride bus, which drove or floated on land and water.
The subsequent trip to the Puszta with horseback riding demonstration and typical local food were another highlight.
Budapest by night was shown to us by Sylvia during a walk through the city center with nice restaurants.
On the return trip on Sunday, the driving lessons were used for a nap; interrupted by a visit to the sausage stand in Vienna and ended in Salzburg in the afternoon.
An eventful weekend came to an end, filled with good Hungarian wine, tasty food, racy gypsy music, lots of fun and laughter. Budapest gave us many beautiful buildings, cozy pubs, lovely alleys and stores, and on Sunday beautiful weather.
